Atlas - Correction
The atlas vertebra, the top cervical vertebra of the spine, plays a central role in the human body. It supports the head, enables mobility of the neck and serves as a connection between the skull and the spine. In addition, it protects vital nerve pathways and blood vessels that run through the foramen magnum (the large opening in the skull), and thus influences the supply and control of the entire body.
